Talon's Mini FAQ

Talon's Mini FAQ

Q: Do you take commissions?

A: Yes, but only in person during convention appearances. Occasionally, I'll take some online, but generally only during special events like virtual cons. Note that by "commissions" I mean drawings done for individuals for private use, not professional jobs done for publication. See next question.

Q: I'd like to hire you for my RPG/Publication project. How do I contact you and how much do you charge?

A: I'm easy to get ahold of. Shoot me a private message here or by email at everwho@comcast.net. You can also use the contact page on my website, www.talonart.com. In the RPG industry, publishers determine their budget for art and generally have a set amount they pay illustrators, but if you don't, I'll be happy to discuss pay rates with you in private.

Q: Is your work for sale?

A: Most of it. There's a LOT, though, so I can't show it all here. If there's a piece you're interested in, send me a private message and we can discuss it. Prices generally range from $50 to a few hundred, depending on the piece in question.

Q: You used to work a lot of conventions, now it's down to one. Why?

A: Working conventions is difficult and expensive, and when I have to travel to them, it's hard to break even, much less make a profit. As such, I've had to drop most of them. DragonCon is local for me, so there's very little overhead to cut into my profits. GenCon was the only show where I could make money despite the travel expenses, and, unfortunately, I don't fit the Art Show criteria anymore so they gave me the boot, and getting a booth out on the con floor is nearly impossible and crazy expensive.

Q: Can I sell NFTs of your work without your consent or knowledge?

A: NO! And, if you do, you're a bad person and should be ashamed of yourself.

Q: Can I alter your work, such as adding digital colors or changing it to fit my needs?

A: As long as it's for private use and you don't try to take credit for my work, sure go for it. You cannot, however, use my work for commercial purposes without my consent or, in the case of my professional work, the consent of the copyright holder.

Happy birthday

are you open for commissions?

Hi there. I'm currently only accepting commissions in person at conventions as it takes me a year or more to get through them. My one and only appearance this year will be at DragonCon in Atlanta.

Thank you for the llama!

Sincerely,

a happy writer
