I'm leaving for GenCon tomorrow! Yaaaaay! As usual, I'll have lots of original art, prints, sketchcards and sketchbook for sale and will be taking spot commissions at my table in the Art Show. However, due to rising costs and growing demand, I have decided to raise my convention commission prices as follows. Note that all sketches (except for sketchcards) are black & white. As a general rule, I don't do color sketches by request (although, occasionally, I'll do one of my own volition). However, I am implementing a new approach as of GenCon 2012: when ordering a full-body PC portrait, you may choose between my stndard "brushed graphite" method:
or ink and white colored pencil on gray paper:
Headshots and character sketches will only be available as pencil drawings.
Convention Commission Prices as of August 2012
Character Sketch (a sketch of a pre-existing character like Superman, Jean Grey or the Hulk) or PC Portrait, full-body: 11x14" bristol or gray paper, $60
PC Portrait (headshot): 3.5x5" bristol, $40
Sketch Card (full color marker drawing on 2.5x3.5 bristol): $50
B/w sketchcard (pencil): $30
Pre-existing color sketchcards: $30
Pre-existing b/w sketchcards: $20
Note that these are con-prices only. All drawings are done at, or at least during, the convention in question. I do not take private commissions at this time except for professional publication.
See you at the show!

DO NOT SELL NFTs OF MY WORK!
It's been brought to my attention (by deviantART) that people have been stealing my art and and the art of countless others and creating NFTs of it on OpenSea. This is NOT COOL. So, for the record... I DO NOT GIVE PERMISSION TO MAKE A PROFIT OFF OF MY WORK WITHOUT MY CONSENT, IN ANY FORMAT WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING THE PRODUCTION OF NFTs. PERIOD. Yes, I allow people to download my art and I refuse to allow dA to ruin my work with a watermark of their logo, but that doesn't give you the right to profit off of the work of others. That's called "theft," and people who do it are "assholes." If you steal my work, and deviantART spots it, I WILL report it and get it pulled down. So don't do it. Thank you. -Talon
Back on Track... But Eclipse Still Sucks
Thanks to Kervala, I now know how to access the group's submissions, which is good because they do NOT show up in my general list. The submissions are buried under multiple layers... Which is my problem with the entire site. Everything I want to do seems to be hidden under something else and what I used to be able to do in a single click now takes several to just get to. Eclipse seems to be about jumping through hoops. Nothing is intuitive or convenient. It's like they only cared about what the site LOOKS like and forgot that people actually have to use it. It's just so bad. So, so bad. Anyway, it's been figured out so feel free to submit again. Please remember that your posts MUST BE RELATED TO A TRADITIONAL PEN & PAPER ROLEPLAYING GAME!!!! Also, please read the FAQ and follow the group rules. Thank you. Talon
Get Talon T-shirts on Etsy!
Greetings, Programs! I am pleased to announce that I have opened a shop on Etsy.com, where you can find awesome D&D-related t-shirts of my own design, along with D&D bookmarks, and my 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2013 sketchbooks (my 2010 sketchbook, Out of the Mists, is sold out)! I have limited supplies of everything, and once they're gone, they're likely gone forever! So get yours while you can! And for a limited time, every t-shirt order comes with a free matching bookmark, autographed by the artist (hey, that's me!).
Please drop by and take a look. You can find my shop, The Fantastic Gallery, here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheFan
Dragon*Con 2013: Not Great, but Good Enough
Well, Dragon*Con 2013 is over and I have to report that, while it wasn't as successful as GenCon, I did, technically, turn a profit, so, all-in-all, I can't complain. This was my first time working my own table in the Dealer's Room and the first time the Dealer's Room was located in the AmericasMart convention center instead of one of the downtown hotels (this particular area in the AmericasMart, anyway), so it was a con full of firsts for everyone. While the new Dealer's Room still has a few kinks to be worked out, for the most part, I believe that the move was a good one and I will continue to support it by going back again next year. My
