Well, Dragon*Con 2013 is over and I have to report that, while it wasn't as successful as GenCon, I did, technically, turn a profit, so, all-in-all, I can't complain. This was my first time working my own table in the Dealer's Room and the first time the Dealer's Room was located in the AmericasMart convention center instead of one of the downtown hotels (this particular area in the AmericasMart, anyway), so it was a con full of firsts for everyone. While the new Dealer's Room still has a few kinks to be worked out, for the most part, I believe that the move was a good one and I will continue to support it by going back again next year. My last two appearances at D*C were in the Art Show and I'll admit that, while I'm glad to be away from the odd politics of that particular venue, I did feel the loss of the Art Show auction rather significantly. As such, it is my current plan to submit to the Art Show next year, despite appearing in the Dealer's Room, in hopes that I can continue to make a showing in the auction. We'll see how that goes in 2014.
Thanks to Ruth Thompson's Tarnished Images and Echo Chernik for getting me into the show this year, and to all the fans, both old and new, who came by my table to make a purchase, request a commission, or just say hello. I love and appreciate your continued support of my humble artistic efforts.
I have dropped Origins Game Fair from my list, so, for now, next year's con-schedule consists of GenCon and Dragon*Con. I will be looking for other shows within reasonable driving distance of Atlanta to attend and will announce those as they're added. Two in early consideration at the moment are Spectrum Art Live in Kansas City, MO, and IlluXCon in Allentown, PA. Make sure to keep an eye on my Facebook and Twitter feeds for announcements regarding any new appearances for 2014. If you know of a convention or art show that you think I should consider, let me know, below.
Until then,
-Talon
DO NOT SELL NFTs OF MY WORK!
It's been brought to my attention (by deviantART) that people have been stealing my art and and the art of countless others and creating NFTs of it on OpenSea. This is NOT COOL. So, for the record... I DO NOT GIVE PERMISSION TO MAKE A PROFIT OFF OF MY WORK WITHOUT MY CONSENT, IN ANY FORMAT WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING THE PRODUCTION OF NFTs. PERIOD. Yes, I allow people to download my art and I refuse to allow dA to ruin my work with a watermark of their logo, but that doesn't give you the right to profit off of the work of others. That's called "theft," and people who do it are "assholes." If you steal my work, and deviantART spots it, I WILL report it and get it pulled down. So don't do it. Thank you. -Talon
Back on Track... But Eclipse Still Sucks
Thanks to Kervala, I now know how to access the group's submissions, which is good because they do NOT show up in my general list. The submissions are buried under multiple layers... Which is my problem with the entire site. Everything I want to do seems to be hidden under something else and what I used to be able to do in a single click now takes several to just get to. Eclipse seems to be about jumping through hoops. Nothing is intuitive or convenient. It's like they only cared about what the site LOOKS like and forgot that people actually have to use it. It's just so bad. So, so bad. Anyway, it's been figured out so feel free to submit again. Please remember that your posts MUST BE RELATED TO A TRADITIONAL PEN & PAPER ROLEPLAYING GAME!!!! Also, please read the FAQ and follow the group rules. Thank you. Talon

GenAwesome!
Well, I just got back from GenCon Indy, and I'm happy to report that it was my most successful convention appearance to date, largely because an amazing turnout and my wonderfully generous fan-base! Due, mostly, to a poor performance at Origins Game Fair this spring, I made the decision to take unlimited commissions at this show, meaning no one was turned down for lack of time. This resulted in a whopping 22 (or is it 23? I've sort of lost count) PC portrait commissions! Thursday was insane with a steady stream of visitors to my table, which only let up slightly over the next three days. And to top it off, I sold two pieces off the wall:

Was great to see you at Dragon*Con. Glad to hear you'll be there next year. I was glad to buy some prints from you. They're gonna look great on my wall. Look forward to buying prints from you next year. The upstairs dealers room was laid out in a very confusing manner to me. At one point I got lost for an hour trying to re-find where you were after finding you at the start of the convention.
