Description
Vlaldis Soluzar (PC portrait)
Graphite on bristol
Dragon*Con 2013
This character, a Pathfinder elf wizard, was completed at home, giving me the opportunity to spray the drawing with fixative in order to protect it from smearing. Unfortunately, when the client arrived to receive the piece at the show the next day, we discovered that he had forgotten to adequately describe the character's hair, requiring me to correct it, a prospect made difficult by the fixative. I was ultimately able to do it, but only over the ghost of the original hair (pictured here), which I wasn' able to completely erase. He also had me remove the tip of the sword so that it appeared to be a long-handled dagger, as the character wasn't proficient in swords (in actuality, all elves in 3e/Pathfinder are proficient in longswords as a racial trait, which is why I included it, but that doesn't mean that this particular character chooses to use them). With this one, I learned a lesson: don't spray the art until you get client approval.
