I normally don't take scene illustrations at cons as they're generally too difficult to work up outside of my studio. This one, however, seemed pretty simple and straightforward, so I went ahead and accepted it. It proved a bit more of a challenge than I anticipated, but I'm ultimately pretty happy with the results, considering the circumstances. In this scene from an Eberron campaign, a warforged Hierophant (a wizard/druid) is about to defeat an intelligent undead skeleton from the nation of Karrnath in a game of chess, a scene which was, apparently, a favorite moment among the client's gaming group.
